ActivityTimeline add-on supports logging time spent on a ticket as well as editing the original and remaining time estimates directly from the add-on
Log Your Work
To report time already spent while working on a JIRA ticket, ActivityTimeline user can:

In Log Work dialog enter the number of minutes (m), hours (h) in Time spent field or choose from the preset.
Specify if you log time for a Single Day or Multiple days in Date field. Choose the date/dates.
Choose the Worklog Category if applicable.
Add Work description (optional) and click Submit.

If the time tracking is enabled, users can log time in Workspace in multiple different ways:
Click on the chart
Click on ‘Log Work' button
Click on the issue → ‘Log Work’
Use ‘My logged hours’ table
Click on the ‘Timer’ icon
Resize existing work logs

The system will automatically adjust the Remaining Time for that ticket. |
Notice message of Date fields:
This ticket is scheduled for future dates. The user tries to log time in a ticket that is scheduled for a future date. Time could be logged for past or current dates only.

Issues on the timeline
ActivityTimeline dashboard shows the planned schedule based on the Remaining Time estimate JIRA issue field.

Enter and Edit the Estimate
The time estimate for a ticket can be specified in JIRA as the Original Time Estimate (automatically copied to the Remaining Estimate field on creation). If the Original Time Estimate is not yet specified or if the current value needs to be changed, ActivityTimeline users can do so directly in the add-on.
To change or set the estimate in ActivityTimeline follow these steps:
Click on the issue card → Click the Estimate button.

Enter the new Remaining estimate and Original estimate values.
Click Submit.
