By default, the Timeline provides a cross-project view that displays everything assigned to a user or team.

If you need to focus on specific items, you can easily filter them out using either the Timeline filter or advanced filtering options.

Timeline Filter

The Timeline Filter STARTING FROM V9.2.0+is located on the top toolbar. Navigate to the Timeline Filter button and click on it to set your preferences for filtering. Timeline Filter button changes color from white to red which indicates “turned off” (if white) or “turned on” (if red).

Project & Type Filters

‘Project’ and ‘Type' filters are available in the dropdown dialog.

The project filter dropdown allows selecting only enabled projects in AcivityTiemline. It is possible to filter by a single project or many projects at the same time.

Type filter dropdown contains all accessible Jira issue types & AcivityTimeline Custom Events as filtering options. You can also apply one or many Jira issues & Event types to timelines. Moreover, there is a possibility to filter by all issues and all events by simply using the “All issues” or “All events” placeholder respectively.

Filtering by Project & Type simultaneously returns items that have a match of both criteria: project & type.
For example, filtering by project BTP & type BOOKING will display on timelines only Booking events from project BTP. Other events (Jira issues types, Placeholder, Note, Overtime, Bookings assigned to other projects) are hidden on timelines.

Advanced Filters

If you’d like to apply more Filters to timelines, please click on the “Advanced Filters” button. You can use all available filters from the Issues Panel such as Assignee, Status, Resolution, Version, Priority, Schedule, Jira Saved Filter, and Agile Filters.

Non-working events in Timeline Filter

Non-working event types such as Day Off, Holiday, Vacation, and Sick Leave are combined as one type that is named “Non-working events”.
Non-working events are always displayed on users' timelines even if not selected in the Type filter.
To see only non-working items on users' timelines please select the “Non-working events” in the filter.

Bookmark of Timeline Filter

Selected projects and types in the Timeline Filter can be saved and bookmarked in your Saved Dashboard.
