Schedule and Unschedule a Task

ActivityTimeline add-on allows scheduling and unscheduling Jira issue on a person's timeline.

Schedule a Ticket

To schedule a task for a particular date, simply drag-n-drop a Jira ticket from Left panel to Dashboard.
The task is scheduled and assigned.

Edit a Scheduled Task

There are two ways of rescheduling the ticket:

  • resize the ticket to followed date:

  • change the Start and End Dates in Schedule page:

In case of a long lasting task it will be hard for a user to stretch it for weeks or even months. Easier way is to manually schedule start and end dates.

  1. To edit a schedule task for a particular date, click on Jira ticket and press Schedule button.

  2.  In the opened dialog enter the desired Start and End Dates, specify a Due Date if applicable and click Change

→ The system will change the dates and the task will be re-scheduled on a user's timeline.

Unschedule a Task

ActivityTimeline allows unscheduling Jira task that was already scheduled on a timeline for a specific period of time.

There are two main ways on how to unschedule a task.

  • Through Schedule dialog

    1. Mouse-over Jira ticket you wish to unschedule

    2. Click on the Schedule link

    3. In the opened popup clear out the values for Start and End Dates

    4. Press Change button
-→ The system will remove Jira ticket from a person's timeline.

  • Through Unschedule box

    1. Find Jira ticket you wish to unschedule

    2. Drag-n-drop a ticket to Unschedule box in the bottom left

→ Selected task is unscheduled from a person's timeline. But Assignee is still saved in ActivityTimeline and Jira (ex.: Assignee is Lisa Donald).

How to unassign a User visit Assigning and Unassigning a Task page.

Unschedule box is not visible when Jira ticket is not selected. As soon as a user starts to drag and drop a ticket, the box will be displayed.
