What's New in Email Digest v3.0/4.0?

Important note for existing users: You may need to adjust the configuration of the add-on after upgrade to get all the benefits of new features.

Email Notification Digest v3.0 is a major step forward in comparison with v2.x.

This major version update includes the following new functionalities:

  • 3 Notification Modes:
    • INSTANT UPDATES - sent immediately per each issue change.
    • ISSUE DIGEST - waits and collects issue updates for several minutes before sending.
    • SUMMARY DIGEST - collects updates from various issues within a day and sends them in a single email per defined schedule (this is previous generation digest).
  • Added possibility to Ignore changes made to selected issue fields (in all email notification types)
  • Allowed Jira administrator to lock the possibility for each user to customize their email digest configuration
  • Enhanced 'Priority Projects' - define whether priority projects should send updates from ALL event types no matter of user filter and delivery mode for these updates.
  • Added 'Ignored Projects' - restore existing Jira Notification Schemes instead of add-on's notification settings for these projects.
  • Added basic Email Template customization:
    • Subject - define email subject, you may use [DATE] placeholder that will be automatically replaced with a current date and [ISSUE_KEY] placeholder for Issue Digest
    • Header - define email header text, you may use [DATE] placeholder that will be automatically replaced with a current date and [ISSUE_KEY] placeholder for Issue Digest
    • Add Extra Issue fields that should be always included in Issue Digest email
