There are 4 different template reports in the Progress Timesheet, which allow to see the progress of completion or effective use of the resource in ActivityTimeline. The available templates are:

Name of the Template | Description | How progress is calculated? | When to use? |
---|---|---|---|
Timesheet Progress | The goal of this report is to show how much time users logged time vs what was expected from them based on their capacity defined in the app. | The progress is calculated using the following formula: Image Modified*Past bookings mean booking-type events, which are scheduled for the past, and the setting to treat them as worklogs is ON *Imported External meetings mean meetings imported from Google Calendar | This report should be used to track if users are logging time and determine how their reported hours match with their capacities. |
Resource Utilization | This report shows how many hours employees were booked in the past, compared to their available capacity. | The progress is calculated using the following formula: Image Modified*Planned tasks mean original estimates of the scheduled Jira tasks | This report is used to determine how user’s capacity was utilized by the manager in the period, meaning, for example, if a user utilization was <50% utilized, his/her capacity was not probably used properly. |
Planned vs Actual | In this report, we compare Planned hours vs Logged hours (actual), which allows us to see how much time was actually reported by the user against what was initially anticipated by the estimation. | The progress is calculated using the following formula: Image Modified | Here we can compare what were the planned hours for the user vs what user has actually delivered (logged), so it’s easy to understand if the user meets the estimates that were set for him/her. |
Approval Progress | This report allows managers to track the progress of the approval of the timesheet, so they can easily see if there are any hours that have to be approved by them. Note: this report will only be visible if the approval workflow is enabled in the app. | The progress is calculated using the following formula: Image Modified *Approved hours - if the approval worklflow is enabled in the app, so the managers will be able to approve users' worklogs. | This report can be used by managers to track the timesheet of users and see how much time has been submitted for approval vs what they have already approved in the past. |
